my way to visual poetry

TOWARDS ASEMIC WRITING

In June 2008 I noticed some blogs of Troy Lloyd and Mike Cannell. I then discovered that I had also been creating asemic writings. I hadn't ever heard about asemic writing before, so I tried to find out what was the meaning and idea behind it, and found Tim Gaze's ASEMIC NET - after that I have made a lot of asemics. I think that I'm even more interested in the variety of possibilities with asemics than in vispos. And I'm also glad about to discover blogs like Michael Jacobson's the new post-literate - a gallery of asemic writing or Marco Giovenale's Asemic-net.blogspot.com.

In January 2010 my asemics were introduced in SCRIPT Issue 1.1.

Some of my asemic works were also in the First Asemic Exhibit in Russia April 2010. The main goals of exhibit were to show asemic-writing as post-literate mode of writing and to express its potential to negate repressive components of language. The Curator was Gleb Kolomiets, technical editor of Slova journal. The exhibit was taking place in April 2010 In Moscow Zverev's Center of Contemporary Art. I also made some little books about my asemics to given free away in the exhibit.

Here's examples from my asemics from September 2008 to July 2010:
